TEHRAN– Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa sent his personal congratulatory message through Parliament Member Marjan Faleel to the new Iran President Ebrahim Raisi who was sworn in as Iran’s eighth president on Thursday, August 4
At the ceremony in the country’s parliament in Tehran on Thursday, Raisi, with a hand on a Quran, read the inauguration oath before adding that he will make Iran stronger and engage with the world.
Faleel told Colombo Times that he was opportuned to meet the new Iranian president personally to present President Rajapaksa’s message to the new Iranian president as soon after the swearing-in ceremony.
Faleel also had a cordial meeting with the President of the Islamic Parliament of Iran Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf during the tour.
