Lankan mission in Chennai holds two Special Consular Camps

CHENNAI: The Deputy High Commission of Sri Lanka in Chennai issued 330 citizenship certificates, 31 birth certificates and nine Refugee Repatriation Programme (RRR) Passports during two special consular camps, organized at the Chancery premises on 10 and 12 May 2022. These special consular camps organized by the Deputy High Commission continues to extend a useful service to the Sri Lankan expatriate community living in Southern India, especially for birth and citizenship registrations.

During the 9th special Consular Camp held on 10 May, 152 Citizenship Certificates and five Birth Certificates were issued for Sri Lankans living in Thoppukollai in Pudukkottai District and Bhavanisagar in Erode District.

At the 10th special Consular Camp which was held at the Chancery Premises on 23 May, 2022, 178 Citizenship Certificates, 26 Birth certificates and 9 RRP passports were issued to Sri Lankans in Paramathy, Namakkal District, Pooluvapatty, Coimbatore District, Virupachi, DilldiguI District, Valavanthallkottai, Trichy District, Perumallallur, Kangeyam, Paruvaand Avinasi, Tiruppur District.
