RIYADH: Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Saudi Arabia Pakeer Mohideen Amza had a fruitful discussion on Monday, Jan.16 with Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf Secrerary General of Gulf Cooperation Council at the Secretariat of the GCC in Riyadh.
Discussion centered on the enhancement of cooperation between GCC and Sri Lanka.
The GCC countries play an important role in Sri Lanka economy. The total volume of trade between Sri Lanka and GCC countries amounts to US $ 2.5 billion annually. The GCC countries host nearly 1 million Sri Lankan migrant workers. Of the 300,000 employment generated last year through the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment 257,000 were to the GCC countries
