Lankan businessman passes away in Kenya

COLOMBO: Managing Director of Synergy Ventures  Pvt Ltd   Colombo 4, Kamil Hussain has passed away in Kenya on Sunday Feb 05.

Hussain was reported to have been infected with dengue and had also developed viral pneumonia.

His brother Ifthikar Hussain told Colombo Times that the funeral took place in the evening on Monday, Feb.6. A Ghaib Janaza prayers in memory of the late Kamil, will be conducted at the Dehiwela Jumma Masjid after Isha prayers on Tuesday,Feb.7

Foreign Minister Ali Sabry in a condolence message said : “Kamil Hussain, friend, patriot,In social activist who despite repeated disappointments and setbacks believed in unity in diversity for all Sri Lankans ! So heartbreaking to hear about your demise ! May Allah grant you an abode in Jannathul Firdouse! You will be missed brother.”

Kamil Hussain managing director of Synergy Ventures and CHINT Energy. Loving husband of Zuhriya Marikkar. Son of late Al Hajj Abdul Jabbar Mustafa Hussain and late Hajiani Faika Hussain. Brother of Al Hajj Iftikhar, Al Hajj Imaam, Namique (Canada) and Al Hajj Murad (Qatar). Father of Haamid, Shakir (Peter’s college) Brother in law of Attorney Fairooz Marikkar (Galle Fort).

The late Kamil’s brother Ifthikar Hussain has been an active member of the SAARC  Forum  and Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka and also holds an active membership as the Council member  of the Sri Lanka  Thailand Business Council.

By virtue of the proprietorship of the Brother Representative Office in Sri Lanka and its Service Center in Lahore, Ifthikar has been an active member of the Sri Lanka-Pakistan Friendship,Trade and Investment Association based in Colombo.
