


COLOMBO- A group of 13 out of 16 new heads of missions to the island’s foreign stations has been selected by the president from the foreign service, Foreign minister Ali Sabry said on Friday,December 16.
’ In line with our commitment to establish a professional foreign service,I’m glad that 13 out of 16 appointments approved by the President are from the Sri Lanka Foreign Services (SLFS). I understand this is the largest single contingent of SLFS officers appointed as heads of missions,” said Sabry
During a meeting with the Head of Mission (HOM) designates at the Foreign Ministry, the foreign minister provided an overview of the current challenges in dealing with the foreign policy.´ We discussed the areas of priority for each mission and region. I also spoke of new opportunities,” Sabry added.
Ambassador O. L. Ameer Ajwad, Director General/Policy Planning, Research, Human Resources Development and Overseas Administration made the opening remarks at the maiden interactive session between the minister and the new appointees.
