Kuwait government resigns just after three months in office

COLOMBO:  – Kuwait’s Prime Minister on Monday Jan.23 submitted the resignation of his government after just three months in office, following disputes with parliament, foreign media reported.

This is the third government formed since last August by Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, son of Kuwait’s 85-year-old ruler Emir Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The Cabinet had been at loggerheads with parliament over two key issues, one being corruption allegations against two ministers; and the other being a bill to grant amnesty for debts of all Kuwaitis, a bill that parliament favoured but Cabinet did not,News First
