Korea to provide necessary assistance to bereaved family of Sri Lankan died during stampede in Seoul-Korean envoy

COLOMBO: Korean Ambassador Santhush Woonjin JEONG called on  Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena at the office of Prime Minister.on Thursday , November 4 to convey his condolences on the death of a Sri Lankan in a stampede in Seoul last week.

Korean Envoy  Santhush Woonjin JEONG, on behalf of the Korean Government and People, appreciated the Prime Minister’s message of condolence and support. Ambassador stated that the thoughts and prayers of all Sri Lankans are a great comfort to the Korean people in this time of grief.

Ambassador Santhush conveyed heartfelt condolences for the late Sri Lankan national who passed away in the unfortunate incident in Seoul and expressed his sympathies to the bereaved family. He personally conveyed the message of condolences to the bereaved family.

Moreover, the Korean Envoy assured the Prime Minister that the Government of Korea is now undertaking all efforts to provide necessary support and assistance to the late Sri Lankan national and his bereaved family.

On his part, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said that he was saddened by the incident that took away many lives including a Sri Lankan national. On behalf of the People and the Government of Sri Lanka, Prime Minister delivered his profound condolences to the People and the Government of the Republic of Korea.

The Prime Minister conveyed his deep sorrow and condolences to those who passed away and their families, and hoped for a speedy recovery for the injured. He assured that Sri Lanka stands with Korea in this difficult time.
