DUBAI : The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won by 7 wickets with 17 balls to spare chasing Rajasthan Royals (RR) modest total of 149 for 9 wickets. Earlier RCB Captain Kohli won the toss and decided to bowl first. Evin Lewis (58 runs) and Y Jaiswal (31 runs) contributed with an opening partnership of 77 runs. A consistent bowling performance by RCB bowlers allowed them to pick the last 5 RR wickets to fall for only 32 runs. Harshal Patel took 3 wickets for 34 runs while Yuzvendra Chahal and Shahbaz Ahamed got 2 wickets each.
RCB reached the target with ease due to Glen Maxwell’s contribution of 50 runs (not out ) out of just 30 balls. Srikar Bharat also displayed stable batting with 44 runs.
RCB’s Yuzvendra Chahal was the man of the match for the 2 wickets for 18 runs off his 4 overs.
RCB is now poised to go in to the play offs with 14 points (3rd place) and are only 2 points behind Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings. Rajasthan Royals are at the 7th place and reaching the play offs seems grim at the moment.
