COLOMBO — The International Airline and Aviation College (IAAC) celebrated a decade of excellence with its 10th graduation ceremony held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo. This landmark event not only honored the achievements of its newest graduates but also highlighted IAAC’s recent recognition as “Asia’s Best Airline Training College 2023-2024.”
The graduation ceremony was a grand occasion, underscoring the accomplishments of a new generation of aviation professionals poised to make significant contributions to the industry. The event was further distinguished by IAAC’s prestigious award, affirming its status as a leader in aviation education across Asia.
Since its establishment in 2015, IAAC has developed into a premier institution for aviation training, offering specialized programs in cabin crew training, airport ground handling, cargo logistics, and airline ticketing and marketing. To date, over 2,000 IAAC alumni are making their mark in airlines, logistics companies, travel agencies, and airports around the world.
IAAC’s international reach is evident through its diverse student body, with individuals from more than 15 countries having walked its halls, further solidifying its reputation as a top global aviation training college.
The ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests, including Hon. Minister of Port and Aviation, Mr. Nimal Siripala de Silva; Mr. Sudesh Rupasinghe, Vice Chairman of the Board of Airline Representatives (BAR) and Head of Kuwait Airways; Dr. Sumith De Silva, Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications at Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka; and Mr. Rasika Ranjikumara, Manager of Air Traffic Control at Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka. Also in attendance were Mr. Farooq Bhatti, Gulf Air Country Manager for Sri Lanka and Maldives; Mr. Eustace Silva, Director/CEO of China Eastern Airlines & Past SLAAR President; Mr. Dev Kowsala Samarajeewa, Founder/CEO of Aviation Voice Sri Lanka; and Mr. Dennis Fonseka, Country Manager of Amadeus Lanka. The ceremony was further enriched by the presence of Mrs. Tess de Kretser Ryan, Mrs. Dammi Eriyagama Piries, and Mrs. Kamini Mukunathan, all former cabin crew members from SriLankan Airlines, along with our respectful lectures Mr.Ramzeen Azeez , Mr.Mohammed Adheeb ,Mr.Mohamed Aslam , Mr.Yohan Pathirana , Mr.Darrel dharmasena , Mr.Shanon ambrose,Mr. Ifthikar zarook , Mr.Ravi weliwita,Mrs.Janika perera , Mr.Ravindra vidyalankara , Mr.Sanka galaboda , Mr.Raheem kitchilan, Mr.Damian Jayasuriya and Ms.Sharon Jacotine & prominent figures from the aviation industry.
The graduation event featured inspiring keynote addresses, special awards, and a heartfelt celebration of the students’ hard work and dedication. As these new graduates embark on their careers in aviation, they do so equipped with advanced skills and knowledge from IAAC, now further validated by the college’s latest accolade.
