COLOMBO : Indonesia is an ideal destination for Sri Lankans who would like to go for a family holiday, said the the CEO of Laras Indonesia Dr Sattiti Andini on Monday Sept.4
Andini is on a weeklong visit to Colombo to attract tourists from Sri Lanka to her country.
Speaking to Colombo Times at the Indonesian mission in Colombo Andini said : “ We have a lot of things to offer for Sri Lanka tourists who are interested for a real holiday.”
She pointed out that for religious tourism, The famous Buddhist temple Borabudur is an ideal place to visit for their prayers as well as for spiritual purposes. She said Balli is an ideal destination for honeymoon couple where the newly wedded couple could find a real hide-out for their hibernation. She also pointed out Indonesian capital of Jakarta remains the center of Finland frolics for people who like to spend a fun-filled holiday.
During her short stay in Colombo ,she also conducted tourism promotion event which was attended by more than 30 travel agents from Colombo.
The Indonesian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Dewi Gustina also attended the event .
Through promotion of tour packages offered by Laras Tours Indonesia (LTI), Ambassador Dewi expected the travel agents to have further collaboration in promoting many places tourist destination in Indonesia.
During the event, LTI CEO, dr. Satiti Andini, delivered a presentation promoting several potential tourist destinations in Indonesia, in such as Labuan Bajo, Mandalika, Lake Toba, Yogyakarta and Central Java (Borobudur Temple), Bandung and Bali. There are relatively competitive prices for those destinations compared to several other favorite tourist destinations in Southeast Asia. For this reason, LTI and tourism business actors in Indonesia will continue to strive to establish contact and collaborate with fellow travel agents in Sri Lanka to promote tourist destinations in Indonesia at very attractive prices.
There are many more potential collaborations open for travel business sectors between the two countries. Therefore, this kind of travel business meeting is expected to be held more often in order to enhance not only people-to-people contact, but also to benefit the tourism sectors of the two countries.
