In an endeavor to create awareness on key tax changes that will apply to individuals and
corporates and to empower the participants to make timely decisions to mitigate taxes within the
legitimate framework, KPMG Sri Lanka Academy has organized a webinar to discuss “How to
take a grip on your taxes” on 13th December 2022 (Tuesday) at 10.30 am.
The session will be conducted by Suresh Perera – Principal, Rifka Ziyard – Director and Hasna
Hassan – Director, Tax and Regulatory at KPMG Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lanka tax system has experienced many tax changes in the recent past which affect
both corporates and non-corporates including individuals. The impact stemming from these
changes are significant and one must understand such impact to efficiently plan the ever-
escalating tax costs. The proposals to amend the Inland Revenue Amendment Act and the
Value Added Tax Act are pending legislation. Both Bills were challenged in the Supreme Court
and the Supreme Court’s Special Determinations have been issued. This timely webinar will be
useful for both individuals and corporates.
