COLOMBO : Former Finance Minister Ronnie de Mel passed away on Tuesday (Feb.27) at the age of 98, family sources announced here.
He was the only finance minister who had presented 11 budgets in the Sri Lanka parliament.
He was receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo at the time of his demise. Funeral arrangements will be notified in due course.
