CHENNAI: Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry was the chief guest at Sri Lanka’s 75th Independence Day celebrations at Chennai, India with the Deputy High Commissioner Dr. D. Venkateshwaran and Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Member Hon. S. Rajakumar.
Ali Sabry sajd : “ It was a well-organized function had many in attendance and promoted Srilanka as a tourism and investment destination. I emphasized the special relationship shared between our nations and invited Indian entrepreneurs to explore the myriad investment opportunities that our nation presents.”
During his stay in Tamil Nadu, the minister also attended as the Chief Guest at the Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Jamia Nooriyya Islamic University in Kerala where he addressed current and past students on the need to promote unity in diversity and tolerance in multi-ethnic,multicultural & multi-religious societies.
