This road will connect two A and B grade roads in the national highway system.  Accordingly, the Colombo-Puttalam road and the Chilaw-Anamaduwa road will be connected to the new road

The development of this road will further facilitate the transportation of agricultural crops to economic centers, facilitate the daily activities of the people and provide easy access to the major cities of Puttalam, Chilaw and Anamaduwa.

People were severely inconvenienced as some parts of the road often get submerged due to the rains.
