COLOMBO :The Travel Industry in Sri Lanka mourns the sudden loss of a legend and a pioneer in the trade, Trevor Rajaratnam passed away while attending a function in Colombo..
He was a dedicated personality in the travel industry leaves behind a legacy that is hard to replace. His enormous experience gained in the industry while working with Travel Bag, Ceylon Carriers and lastly at the Mackinnons Travels where he worked until his retirement. As a pioneer in the industry his contribution as the CEO of Mackinnons Travels, was outstanding.
Rajaratnam was an esteemed Past President of IAASL & TAASL and has been and active member of the Travel Trade for nearly 50 years. His professionalism, experience and expertise will be fondly remembered and missed by the Travel industry in Sri Lanka, where such professionals are becoming increasingly scarce.
His departure marks a profound loss for the industry, as his unique insights, strategic vision, and dedication were not only invaluable but also nearly irreplaceable in an era where Human Resources are facing notable challenges.
Trevor was a great influencer and a supporter in my Career and Professional journey I will always be grateful to him for this gesture of comradery.
He was a great Thomian, active member of the OBA and a fantastic cricketer who played for the school. He was a member of the Sri Lanka Cricket and held the positions of Treasurer & Vice President of Sri Lanka Cricket. He was also a Honourable Life Member of Colombo Colts Cricket Club.
We extend our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and colleagues. He will be going on his last journey in Friday , 16th February . The Cremation will be held at the General Cemetry, Colombo at 10.30 a.m.
May the memory of Trevor Rajaratnam continue to inspire and guide us, and may his soul find eternal peace.
