FIFA World Cup 2022 : Iran Beat Wales 2-0

DOHA: Iran beat Wales 2-0 at the Group B match. They made the most of their one-man advantage by changing the phase of the game, scoring two injury-time goals to beat Wales 2-0 to stay alive in the Group B. Late into the second-half, Wales goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey was sent-off for a foul outside the penalty box, giving Iran a man’s advantage in the dying minutes.

The first half remained a drab affair, with neither of the two teams managing to creat big chances. Earlier, Gareth Bale made history for Wales as he started the game against Iran, making his 110th appearance for the country.

Despite Wales surviving the first 90 mark minute, after Wayne Hennessey was sent off for clattering into Iran striker Mehdi Taremi late in the game, the Welsh defense came down to a 2-0 defeat, which consigns them to bottom of the group.

Excellent composure from the full back Reiznan who stormed through and chipped in to secure the win for Iran, and it’s nothing less than they deserve. The 10-men Wales conceded two goals late in the nine minutes of added time as Rouzbeh Cheshmi and Ramin Rezaein scored for Iran
