COLOMBO : Faisal Abdeen assumed duties as the new director of Muslim religious and cultural affairs on Monday, Jan.30.
Abdeen who counts decades of experience in public service, succeeds Ibrahim Sahib Ansar who left the post on completion of his terms of contract on December 31.
Abdeen who had been in the service as Assistant commissioner and Assistant Secretaries in various departments in the public service is the son M I U Abdeen ,former principal and Marhooma Nafeesa, a school teacher.
