HOBART: The Kangaroosthrashed the Englishmen to win by 146 runs in Hobart to secure the Ashes series 4 – nil.
Australia set a target of 271 for England to chase on day three of the Test match. However England managed only a mere 124 runs losing 10 wickets for just 56 runs.
Australia scored 303 runs in the first innings powered by a century by Travis Head who was named the player of the match. England were bundled off for 188 runs in the first innings with only Captain Root (34 runs) and Woakes (36 runs) hitting runs over 30. Australian second innings was restricted to 155 runs due to England’s Mark Wood claiming his first Ashes five-wicket haul. Wood picked up 6 wickets for 37.
England were well with a chance to win chasing a target of 271 and with English openers Rory Burns and Zak Crawley’s encouraging opening stand of 68 runs.
