Education Minister visits Hameed Al-Husseinie College

COLOMBO — Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha visited Hameed Al Husseinie College Colombo recently. 

Principal of the College A.K.T. Adahan and students welcomed the Minister with the playing of the college band. Member of the Parliament Mujibur Rahman was also present.

Minister said in his speech that the Colombo Central have three National Schools and Hameed al Husseinie College is one of those schools and that he will also solve the shortage of teachers in the school before March.  He also mentioned that he had already arranged the distribution of school uniforms, textbooks and meal care projects.  The Minister also spoke about the education elevation programs this year.

Principal A.K.T. Adahan said that the schools marks 138 years of history and that they have planned various programmes to mark the 138th anniversary.

Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha and Mujibur Rahman distributed certificates to the students who took part in the Kids Virtual Talent Competition in 2020.  Also a meal care project named “Light of Life“organized by the old boys of the College was introduced at this ceremony.

Deputy Principal and Head of Primary Ms. M.H.F. Muzniha, School Development Committee Secretary A.R.M. Nawaz Deen, Lite of Life Project Director Faizal Buhary, Teachers, Students, Parents and Old Boys were also present.
