Dialog Schools Rugby League Postponed Indefinitely Due To Covid 19

COLOMBO : Following the directive issued by the Ministry of Education, the Dialog Schools Rugby League 2020 has been postponed indefinitely taking into consideration the threat of an outbreak of the Corona virus in the country. 

Earlier, the Minister of Education Dullas Alahapperuma ordered all schools in the country to be closed owing to the current situation until the 20th of April. Which was extended till May 11th.

With the situation gradually escalating, a call was taken by the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) to halt the league for an indefinite period.

Nirodha Wijerama, Secretary of the SLSRFA added that the call to halt the league was taken following a discussion with the Ministry of Education.

The match between St Anthony’s College Kandy and Trinity College Kandy was played with no spectators at the Nittawela Stadium in Kandy on the 13th Of March.With no potential schedule in sight, the possibility of the league resuming is still to be considered and according to the SLSRFA the decision will come once everything returns  to normalcy.
