CHENNAI: A delegation from Sri Lanka Muslim Media Forum,SLMF, is currently on a visit to Tamil Nadu,from Thursday,Jan 12.
During its tour to Tamil Nadu, the SLMF found time to visit former Indian President Late A.J.M.Abdul Kalam’s ancestral home in Rameshwaram,Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, Jan.18.
The delegation led by senior journalist and founder of the SLMF N M Ameen composed of 15 of its members.During the visit to the Late President’s house,the delegates met with Sheikh Saleem, relative of Late Dr, Kalam. and got to know the simple life the late leader led in his early childhood.
In addition to its coordinated efforts to train journalists regularly, the SLMF also publishes a Media Directory which is a ready reckoner of all important addresses of the public,private sector officials and diplomats.
Recently, Ameen presented a copy of the Media Directory to Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.
The delegation is currently on an invitation from the Indian Muslim League headed by Professor Kader Mohideen.(Photos M S M Zahir)
