Colombo returns to normalcy after 41days lockdown

COLOMBO – As the quarantine curfew is lifted in the morning on Friday Oct1, people started to do their regular work despite the heavy rains in the city.

The Pettah shopping areas were normal with vendors and consumers rushing to make their respective purchases. The bus terminal for outstation buses at the Bastian Mawathe remain closed since inter-provincial public transport is not allowed after the curfew is lifted. Passengers were seen using the buses that operate within the region to travel inside the province.

The situation in Colombo this morning after the curfew was lifted for the past 41 days to control the corona disease in the country.

Public and private buses were seen operating on a limited basis and the private bus stand in Basrian Mawatha was completely closed.

Shops and other outlets were open in the suburbs. Public and private sector employees were able to visit the capital and buy goods at public shopping malls.
