Cardinal: masterminds behind Easter Sunday carnage are still at large

NORMAN PALIHWADANA
COLOMBO : Sri Lankan rulers were like a bunch of crabs, dancing in boiling water, and they should keep in mind the fact that their plight would be worsened by every passing minute unless they delivered justice for the victims of the Easter Sunday carnage, Colombo Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith said on Monday.

Speaking at the Vespers Service at St Anthony’s Church in Kochchikade, the Cardinal said: “They will have to face the reality sooner or later. Soon those who masterminded, aided and abetted this heinous crime will start betraying each other and level accusations at each other. We have patience to wait till that day.”
The Cardinal said those who had masterminded the Easter Sunday terror attacks were still at large. “We see them move about freely. How long could they go on like this?

The government and its ministers, too, are also in league with them. They bring new laws to prevent the truth from coming out. Hardly a day passes without the government introducing a new law to keep the lid on the truth. This they cannot do forever.  Someday they will have to face the truth,” the prelate said. The Island
