Azath Salley’s FR case put off for hearing on June 28

COLOMBO : The Supreme Court postponed the fundamental rights case of Former governor and Leader of the National Unity Alliance Azath Salely for hearing on June 28.

On behalf of the Attorney General’s Department, Additional Solicitor General Dileep Peiris told court that his department will be able to submit a detailed report in two weeks time.

The case filed by Attorney at Law Gowri Sangari Thavarasa on behalf of Salley came up for hearing on Monday, June 14, before a three-member bench comprising Justice L.T.P.Dehideniya, Justice Gamini Amarasekera and Justice Shiran Gunaratne.

On behalf of Salley, President’s Counsel Faisz Mustapha, senior lawyer N.M.Shaheed, attorneys at law ,Dharma Dharmarajah and and Chandrakesh Birinda appeared for the case instructed by Gowri Shankar Thavarasa.
