COLOMBO — An Australian tea company is encouraging Australians to help Sri Lanka get through its present economic crisis and help get money for Sri Lankans in need of basic necessities such as medicine and food.
Origin Tea in Sri Lanka donated some medicines worth AUD 3000 to the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children, Borella, Colombo Thursday November 17 under their CSR Project #sipforSriLanka.
The majority of children who are brought for treatment are from low socio – economic backgrounds families.
Origin Tea Private Limited, CEO Christopher Seaton handed over the medicines to the Director of the Lady Ridgeway Hospital Dr. G. Wijesuriya at the Hospital premises.
Origin Tea is run by two brothers Christopher Seaton and Lawrence Seaton in Australia.
Deputy Director of Hospital Dr. Santhusitha Senapathi, Planning Medical Officer Dr. Savithri Dharmarathna, Origin Tea Group Director Menaka Athukorala, Director Nishantha Rajapakse and staffs were also present.
