In the past months Australia got hit by a very humongous bushfire in the month of Christmas which made people’s homes burn into ash, aussie wildlife had to leave their life and many more shocking situations. Since August Australia hasn’t gotten enough rainfall or no rainfall. Most people believed there would be a drought by Christmas but what happened was worse than what everyone thought. People living in Australia believe that the dry weather caused this.
Small bushfires caused in the state of Queensland and New South Wales in September 2019. After that it started to spread, by December 2019 the south part of New South Wales and the top part of Victoria had bushfires and that started to spread more. It is the major bushfire that we know. People in those areas were not at home for Christmas or New Year and they were in big ground, beaches and other open areas.
Due to the Australian bushfires more than 15.6 million hectares of bush, forest and parks of Australia has been taken over by bushfires. 28 people have been killed, including 4 fire fighters. About 1,400 houses have been burnt down. According to biodiversity experts about 1 billion animals have been killed by this Grose bushfire. By this information we know that massive amounts of living and non – living things have been destroyed.
Now Australia is back to normal. Everyone should feel empathy towards people and animals who died from this disaster. We should hope that Australia doesn’t get another dangerous bushfire like that.
