DUBAI: The 15th edition of the Asia Cup, will commence on Saturday, August 27 in the UAE with an opening encounter between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Asia Cup 2022 will be played in the T20 format. The main tournament will feature six teams divided into two groups.
Group A : India, Pakistan and the qualifier
Group B : Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Each team plays within the group once.
UAE, Kuwait, Singapore and Hong Kong will play a qualifying round with the winner will join Group A in the main tournament.
The top two teams qualify for the Super 4 round where the teams play against each other in league format again and the top two will proceed to the final on 11th September.
All matches will start at 7.30 PM Sri Lanka time.
Group A:
India v Pakistan: 28 August, Dubai
India v Qualifier: 31 August, Dubai
Pakistan v Qualifier: 2 September, Sharjah
Group B:
Sri Lanka v Afghanistan: 27 August, Dubai
Bangladesh v Afghanistan, 30 August, Sharjah
Sri Lanka v Bangladesh, 1 September, Dubai
The Super 4 round will be played from 3rd to 9th September while the final will be played on 11 September in Dubai.
