Asia cup, 2022: Pakistan crushes Hong Kong by 155 runs  joins Super 4 

SHARJAH: Pakistan sailed across to the Super 4 round with a convincing win by 155 runs against Hong Kong after setting a massive score of 193 for loss of 2 wickets in 20 overs.  

Mohamed Rizwan set the tone along with F Zaman with a 116 run partnership for the second wicket after losing Skipper Babar for only 9 runs. F Zaman scored 53 runs off 41 balls and Rizwan remained unbeaten with 78 runs off 57 balls. Shah joined Rizwan and displayed power hitting to take Pakistan past 190. Shah (35 runs off 15 balls) hit four sixers in the last over of the match and allowed Pakistan to reach 193 runs for loss of 2 wickets.  E Khan was the best of the Hong Kong bowling picking up 2 wickets  for 28 runs off 4 overs. 

The target of 194 runs was farfetched for Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong batsmen struggled against the Pakistan bowlers. Opening pacers Shah and Dahani kept the Hong Kong batsmen in check while Shah picked up 2 wickets for 7 runs in his first spell. At then end of 10 overs Hong Kong hit only 38 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Pakistan leg spinner Mohamed Nawaz had a dream bowling run with 3 wickets for just 5 runs in 2 overs along with Shadabh Khan who picked up 4 wickets for 8 runs. Hong Kong’s misery ended with 38 runs in 10.4 overs. 

Pakistan secured a massive win by 155 runs and deservingly moves ahead to the Super 4 round.

Sri Lanka Vs Pakistan – Dubai – 9th September 2022
