Arrangements finalized to give jobs to 50,000 graduates on Sept.2

COLOMBO : Sri Lanka  has finalized arrangements to provide jobs to all graduates for their commitment in bringing the government to power, said Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government Minister Janaka Bandara Tennakoon.

Accordingly, he said that measures have been taken to hand over the appointment letters to 50,000 graduates on September 2 at their respective Divisional Secretariats under the first stage.

Based on a promise made by President Mahinda Rajapaksa to grant employment to suitable graduates who are unemployed, applications were called in February and applicants who had obtained their degrees by December 31, 2019 were selected.

Minister Tennakoon said that once the task was handed over to his ministry, immediate action was taken to ensure that all appointment letters were duly completed and sent to the selected graduates.
