HAMBANTOTA: Parents of students of the Pahala Andarawewa Junior College in Hambantota on Thursday staged a protest against the principal of the school, who had threatened the parents for criticizing her conduct.
The parents had also prevented their children from attending the academic activities in the school yesterday.
According to the parents, the principal on a previous occasion had threatened the parents that she would kill those who criticize her conduct using a T-56 weapon.
“Although we had informed the responsible parties about this principal, they have not taken any action against her yet. She takes revenge from the children of whose parents criticize the weaknesses of the principal. Even the teachers who speak against her have been transferred”, they said.
A participant of the protest W.A. Sureka told the media that this principal comes to school around 10.00am in the morning. She does not know what happens in the school in the morning. On Wednesday (November 2), a student fainted and steps were taken to send that student to the hospital by the 1990 Ambulance service. But, the principal is not aware of this.(CDN)
