Ambassador Lamawansa calls on Ambassadors of Pakistan and Nepal in Moscow

MOSCOW: Sri Lankan Ambassador-Designate Prof. M.D. Lamawansa paid courtesy calls on his Pakistani counterpart Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, and  Ambassador Rishi Ram Ghimire last week in Moscow.

During the discussion the Ambassadors spoke about possible post-COVID effects on different sectors, especially upon economy of the countries.

Ambassador-Designate Lamawansa and Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan highlighted the need to develop awareness of the education opportunities in Russia and the steps to be taken to encourage young people from Sri Lanka and Pakistan to enter Russian Higher Educational Institutions.

The bilateral meeting with Pakistani Ambassador was followed by the visit to Ambassador of Nepal H.E. Ghimire.  The Heads of Mission had a substantive discussion on a number of matters and addressed the principles of friendship with the neighbouring countries.
