ACJU Chief conducts maiden Jumma prayers at First Sri Lankan Mosque in Australia built at a cost of 4 million Aus.Dollars

MELBOURNE:  Ravenhall Place of worship, education and community centre had a grand opening amidst a large gathering on Saturday, November 5.

On the 4th November first Jummah Prayers was conducted and the sermon was delivered by the President of All Ceylon Jammiyathul Ulama President Sheikh Rizvi Mufthi

On 5th November the Education and Community Centre was formally declared open with the attendance of  Learned Scholars , high dignitaries, Srilankan and other cultural leaders and the community.

The President of Australia Sri Lanka Association Fazeer Sanoordeen and his team worked tirelessly along with the community members to achieve the long awaited dream of Sri Lankan Muslim Community in Melbourne. This is the first Sri Lankan Muslim place of worship and community centre in the  whole of  Australia.

Among the distinguished invitees who graced this occasion were Natalie Hutchinson  Hon . Minister of Education Cesar Melbem Hon Member of Parliament Vivian Nguyen ,Multicultural Commissioner, Mayor Melton Lara Karlie, Colin Roberts, Sheikh Mufthi Zeeyad Rabat,Sheikh. Mufthi Rayees Abdul Azeez and Mukuwatte Dharmarathna Himi
