COLOMBO : The Association of Alternate Financial Institutions (AAFI) with the objective of disseminating knowledge on Islamic Finance Products has organized a series of webinars focusing on each product. The AAFI is a representation of the leading banks and financial institutions in the alternate finance industry in Sri Lanka.
AAFI is proud to host the initial webinar with Amana Bank Plc. The initial webinar will focus on ‘Partnership based Financing’ and will include a presentation and panel discussion. The Webinar will be held on 26th April 2023 at 3.15 pm and the webinar will be hosted in MS Teams. The features of the product will be explained by Mr Muath Mubarak, Manager – Knowledge Marketing & Financial Inclusion at Amana Bank PLC (Colombo, Sri Lanka).
Mr Muath Mubarak is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant by profession and a Workplace Learning Strategist, Banker, Trainer and Writer by practice in the field of Banking & Finance since 2006. He is well experienced Management Accounting, Financial Control, Strategic Planning, Regulatory Compliance, Corporate Strategy, Knowledge Marketing, Training & Career Development in the Banking & Finance industry. He also a visiting lecturer for MBA and MSc students of the Bristol University of West of England – UK at the Bristol Institute of Business Management (BIBM) in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The presentation will focus on introduction to the product, key Features, different types such as home finance, vehicle finance, working capital finance and explanation via a case study.
Mr Ravi Abeysuriya, President of AAFI will be a panelist at this session. Mr Abeysuriya is credited for establishing several startups in the financial services sector and currently serves as Director/Chief Executive Officer of Senfin Securities Limited. He serves in many boards and serves as a Non-Executive Director on the respective boards of Seylan Bank PLC, HNB Assurance PLC, Bio Foods (Pvt) Ltd, SenFin Asset Management (Pvt) Ltd, Straight Sale (Pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka Institute of Directors and CFA Society Sri Lanka.
The session will be moderated by Ms Rifka Ziyard, Secretary of AAFI. She is also the principal – Tax & Regulatory at KPMG in Sri Lanka.
