A high-powered Saudi trade delegation to visit Sri Lanka shortly to extend areas of cooperation in tourism and trade-Minister Nazeer Ahamed

COLOMBO: A high-powered Saudi trade delegation will visit Sri Lanka shortly to extend areas of cooperation in tourism and trade, Environment Minister Hafiz Nazeer Ahamed who arrived from Saudi Arabia following a five-day visit to the Kingdom told Colombo Times on Saturday, Sept.3

Minister Ahamed visited the Kingdom as a special envoy of the Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe  handed a special message from president to the Saudi Crown Prnce  Mohamed Bin Salman during this visit.

The minister said that the two parties agreed to promote tourism, promote trade and enter into long term plans. “ We will be participating in the implementation of the Vision 2030 program which is implemented by the Crown Prince,

The minister counted a number of meetings with Saudi dignitaries such as heads of Muslim World League,King Salman Foundation,Organization of Islamic Conference, Saudi ministry of foreign affairs, SABIC and Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry,RCCI.

He had a meeting with the officials of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry where he met with the Chamber of the board member, Riyadh Al-Zamil, in the presence of the Secretary-General Mr. Nasser Abu Hamid, members of the chamber and Leading Arab Businessman.

The Ambassador of Sri Lanka, Pakeer Amsa  accompanied Minister at all meetings.

A Saudi businessan tweeted following the meeting :”Excellent, Srilanka is virgin county for tourism, Agrobusiness and seafood. It’s also very strategic location among  Asian countries as strong & distribution point for commodities.”
