NUWARA ELIYA : Multiple casualties are reported in a fatal crash involving a bus, a van and a three-wheeler in Nanu Oya, Nuwara Eliya this Friday evening.
According to the Nuwara Eliya police , the bus has toppled down a precipice of about 40 feet, after it collided with a van, which then crashed against a nearby three-wheeler.
The bus, which was en route to Colombo, had been transporting a group of students from Thurstan College in Colombo, who were on an educational tour.
Seven people – the driver of the three-wheeler and six others who were travelling in the van – are confirmed dead in this fatal multiple-vehicle collision.
A total of 41 students in the bus have sustained injuries, however, it is reported that they are out of danger. The police told Colombo Times that they are unable to give details of the deceased at the moment.
