COLOMBO : A six-year old girl died in her school when the parapet wall suddenly collapsed on the children on Wednesday, Nov.15 in Urugodawatte, Wellampitiya.
The victim,Sevmini Sethrani has told her parents when she was going to school to keep her birthday cake for her to cut. The tragedy has taken place around 11 am at a government school in Weragoda,Wellampitiya .
An eye-witness said that the injured child was breathing heavily while she was taken to the hospital.
Six more students were also injured in the accident which took place this morning and one student died while being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
According to hospital reports, the condition of one of the injured students is also critical. Further details Grandpass police are still investigating.
