ABU DHABI: A stunning 45 runs partnership between Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard for the 5th wicket snatched a victory for Mumbai Indians (MI) by 6 wickets from the Punjab Kings (PBKS). MI won the toss and chose to bowl first. PBKS only scored 135 runs for 6 wickets. Tiwary contributed 45 runs off 37 balls however his fall on the 15th over with 92 runs on the board did unsettle the chase. The 40 runs off 30 balls from Hardik Pandya and 15 runs off 7 balls by Pollard ensured that MI reaches the target with an over to spare and put a halt to MI’s losing streak. Pollard was the man of the match for his batting and bowling figures of 2 wickets for 8 runs by bowling just one over.

This MI win makes the IPL 2021 much more interesting as it creates a congestion for the playoff. MI now stands at 5th place and KKR at 4th place both with equal points but KKR with a positive run rate. PBKS was pushed down to 6th position with 8 points.
