RIYADH : Sri Lanka Embassy in Riyadh in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLBFE) organized the first ever participation of 25 Sri Lankan foreign employment agencies at the Saudi Human Resources and Manpower Expo held in Riyadh from 27-30 October 2024.
Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ameer Ajwad inaugurated the Sri Lanka pavilion by lighting the traditional oil lamp.
Sri Lanka Embassy hosted a feedback session on the last day of the Expo with the visiting Sri Lanka delegation of foreign employment agencies. Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Ameer Ajwad underscored the highly potential Labour market for Sri Lankan skilled manpower in Saudi Arabia with the unfolding new opportunities under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 agenda and urged Sri Lanka manpower recruitment agencies to focus in this promising sector. Ambassador also encouraged Sri Lanka manpower recruitment agencies to make use of the agreement signed between Sri Lanka Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission and Takamol Holdings of Saudi Arabia on Skill Verification Program which offers 23 skilled Labour categories for the Employment and which aims at improving the professional competence of employees in the Saudi Labour market, easing the recruitment process of skilled workers from Sri Lanka.
The feedback session included a workshop organized for the visiting Sri Lanka foreign employment agencies to contribute their inputs for an action plan being prepared by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Riyadh for the enhancement of Labour relations between Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia.
The largest human resources and recruitment companies in the Kingdom and a wide range of international presence from European, Asian, and African countries featured at this popular Expo dedicated for manpower and Labour services. The visiting Sri Lanka delegation of foreign employment recruitment agencies engaged in B2B meetings with their counterparts during the Expo.
Deputy General Manager (Logistics & License) Ms. B.A Rohini and Actg. Manager (Marketing) Ms. E.A.P.M Dewasurendra participated at the Expo representing the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE). Counsellor of Employment and Welfare at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Riyadh Mr. R.K.K.M.P Randeniya coordinated the visit of Sri Lanka delegation to the Saudi Human Resources and Manpower Expo -2024.
