COLOMBO:a group of 100 out of the 146 Government MPs have written a letter to President and Prime Minister requesting an inquiry over the release of Riyaj Bathiudeen, brother of former minister Rishad Bathiudeen, who was released from detention last week.
Goverment MPs have also requested the President and the Prime Minister to re-arrest Riyaj Bathiudeen and enforce the law.
Last week, Bathiudeen was released after five-month detention in remand prison saying that there was no proper evidence against him on the Easter Sunday bomb blast which killed more than 250 people and injured more than 500 persons
